Habitat for Humanity - Build Project

Rotary Club of North Mecklenburg is partnering with Our Towns (of Lake Norman) Habitat for Humanity for two Saturdays (April 26 and May 3) from 7:45am to 1:00pm to serve our community in partnership with future homeowner Terry Little.  We need 10-12 volunteers each day.  The work and home site is 12040 Palomar Drive. Huntersville, NC (directions at the bottom). At present the work on April 26 is expected to be interior painting and on May 3 installing flooring.  Training and skilled supervision will be available as needed.  

Registrations need to be done online to work with Habitat volunteer system.  (See Rotarian John Quinn/ 704-819-0919 for assistance.)

 How to register as a volunteer... Please visit the website www.ourtownshabitat.org and click on the Volunteer Up tab

--Click register under new volunteer on the right
--Enter a username, password, your name, email address, and other information you wish to share
--Check the boxes to indicate what roles/team (Rotary of North Mecklenburg) you are interested in.

How to sign up for build day...(either April 26th or May 3rd with fellow Rotarians)

--Sign in with your username and password on the left
--You will see the broadcast message. This will contain reminders such as host site location and other timely information. Click return on the bottom of this screen.
--You will now see the calendar screen. Scroll down to find the day you are interested in, then across for project (12040 Palomar)
--Click the name of project.
--Check the box next to the shift you wish to work. You can also set up email reminders from the dropdown menu. If you cannot choose the shift you want, you need to make sure you checked the appropriate team when you register.
--Scroll to the bottom of the screen and hit sign up. Now you are registered for that day.

Directions to Norman Park Habitat Homes

From I-77 take Exit 25 West; Go 3.2 Miles to a left on Beatties Ford Road

Go 4.1 miles to a left on Hambright; Go 0.3 miles to a left on Platon; Go 0.4 miles to a right on O'Hara


Snacks and beverages will be provided.

Please dress comfortably and appropriately for the setting and weather (old, comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes or sneakers, sunscreen, etc.)

Please plan to arrive by 7:45 AM sharp for safety instructions.

No special tools or equipment are required but work gloves are recommended.

No construction experience necessary, volunteers will be trained on the build site
